The Geospatial Research Laboratory is the GIS and Planning research unit housed in the Department of Geography and Environment at Rowan University. The GeoLab conducts research on a myriad of geospatial topics, primarily land use development patterns, impervious surface trading, watershed quality analysis, and interactive web-based mapping.

We welcome you to explore our list of current and ongoing projects.

The GeoLab also manages the campus GIS infrastructure, ensuring that all departments and administration have access to campus maps and GIS data.

Students are an important part of the GeoLab, as we have many projects that provide internship opportunities for Rowan students.
